Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are one of America's favorite foods.  They were created when a baker accidentally dropped pieces of chocolate into her sugar cookies.  The first cookies were delicious but over time and with much practice Americans have been able to perfect this cookie.  My favorite recipe is one that was given to me from my grandmother and has been in my family for many years.  Before you begin to make the cookies, you first need to collect all of your ingredients, prepare the correct measurements, and collect all of the tools that will be needed.  For this recipe you will need 2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 3/4 cup of butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, and 2 cups of chocolate chips.  You must also set the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and then you are ready to begin! First, you must put your flour, baking soda, and salt through a sieve to remove any large pieces that may be stuck together, and place these ingredients off to the side.  Next, melt the butter until it is soft enough to mix into the brown and white sugars.  Then, combine the butter and sugar mixture with the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk and beat them together until they are blended.  Lastly, take this blended mixture and mix it with the flour, baking soda, salt, and the chocolate chips.  Once all of the ingredients are combined, use your hands to roll the mixture into small balls and place them onto the cookie sheet with 3 inches between each one.  Bake the cookies for 16 minutes, and once fully baked place the cookies on the wire rack until cool.  Finally, enjoy!

Underline the temporal words and phrases in the small passage below.
